Domokos, is a really nice place in the perfecture of Ftiotida. It is built at an altitude of 561 meters and it’s 38 km away from Lamia and 25 km from Farsala. There are many public services such as the Prefecture, the Police, the Post Office etc., as well as banks and shops of all kinds that cover the needs of the residents.
The cultural events that take place in Domokos are traditional festivals taking place in almost all the Local Communities. Certainly, during the summer, additional events take place, music-dancing, sports, theatrical performances, etc.
Curbani:
Curbani is a traditional event that is celebrated each year on the 5th of June on the day of Ascension at the church of St. George. Curbani means sacrifice and according to tradition, the custom is preserved from Eastern Romilia.
The Deviants and the Camels:
A traditional New Year’s custom with the Deviants and the Camels. The custom refers to antiquity that disguised people celebrated and honored God Dionysus with satires and dances in “frantic” rhythms. The dresses are dressed with hairs and they wear the cap that is a hat and a mask together.
